If the rubber grips on your PRO-96 come off (and they will - only took 4 months for mine),
pick up a role of Scotch (AKA 3M) double adhesive "Poster Tape" . Works better than
the stock adhesive strips without the mess of glue.
Make sure to remove the old adhesive strips and clean the case with alcohol.
The tape is $3.99 at Wall-Mart.

I picked mine up in 04 and have had no problems with the grips coming off ;)

I guess I should have mentioned that mine has been in a case since the second I took it out of the box :) I also never really handled it or used it much.

My grips came off early in my radio's history....tried reattaching and they still came off.... so, in the interest of safety (I work outside all night long) I have strips of reflective tape in the slots where the grips were... makes me visible and keeps the water out, too! I asked RS about this problem and was told the grips never come off and they (Customer Service) had never heard of any coming off... still going after all these years.

Looks like a good deal on the ScannerMaster case. Would have been nice if RS had
included one for what they charged for the radio!
