Ebay Antenna and other questions.....

Has anyone ever given one of the antenna's off Ebay a shot?? I found this one....http://cgi.ebay.com/Base-Scanner-An...3QQihZ015QQcategoryZ40979QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ......the "best performance" is right in the range that I need. How well do they actually pick-up if anyone has tried them??

I am looking for an antenna for my Base Scanners....just about all of my ranges are in the 30-50 / 148-174 / 450-512 range.

And also looking for a good Mil/Air Antenna in the 120 to about 400 range. I know that's quite a gap, but it's what I need.

Any input / guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi there, my brother has this antenna up about 35 feet of radioshack antenna mast and radioshack also carries that antenna. It works great. we checked the swr for 2meter and it was 1.2 to 1.4 and also picks up signals on 800 30+ miles away. Works very well. I would recommend. Hope i helped.

The $25 RS discone has been the best investment for me.

as far as the 30mhz range and mil/air I am not sure. As for 800mhz
all I can say is wow..

I have mine on 15' of mast and it werks wonderfully.
