I have noted that Ebay seems to be indifferent about scanner listings that mention "Unblocked" in either the title or description. They used to get bent out of shape over that, and would remove such auctions. I know one of mine was removed for that reason, cause when I relisted and removed that term, they didn't bother it. And would see others that just disappeared from the listings after a day or two. Why the change of heart? Did they get tired of policing the listings? Not that I'm complaining mind you. :D

Maybe they got smart and realized that cell phones are almost all digital now and even with an "unblocked" scanner, you still won't hear much of anything.

I think it was some jerk off from the news groups searching out unblocked ads and reporting them and not ebay its self searching them.

eBay doesn't just surf all their adds. They would need an army to do that. They rely on people reporting the violations. If no one reports it, it goes without enforcement for the most part. And on top of that, there is just no way to police every single auction. Like someone else said, it's a moot point anyway. There is nothing to hear.

The cell phone companies are required by law to not use encryption that wouldn't allow Police to follow. Thats why there are Gov't
issued models. Maybe Ebay thought it was unlawful.
