I have heard dispatch on this the last few days. 7725 is listed as Training. Sounds like Central County (but not a simulcast of 7712) and/or Concord. Have I just not noticed consistent traffic on there or is it a new thing?

Perhaps, but it sounded like real traffic. I'll listen with a different ear.
What I heard occured Tuesday. Around 2100 hrs. Pursuit up and down a few streets. The street names sounded like they were in Motco. Unit c
call signs were odd also. After I heard that it could be academy training, it made more sense,

It could also be new dispatcher training. Usually though you can hear a second person on a companion mic/headset in the background correcting the trainee. They've done that on the west/SWS ALCO channels from time to time.
