Should we anticipate any regional or statewide channels being used on April 8 for the eclipse?

IPSC continues to encourage the use of fewer talkgroups. Let's hope everyone minimizes the use of MA talkgroups since they are resource intensive.

Use ONLY ma instead of 6 tgs for every agency. That is what they mean. Use only 1 ops for everyone, not 1 for sgts, 1 for parking, 2 for blah blah... Use a single tg to get r done, though here they literally need at least 4 of the tactical tgs out of the 20 due to the sheer size of ops needed.

I saw a memo where they also encouraged the use of ILEEN and the old Plan A system too. Who has those anymore ?
I know JoCo still has them in the VHF radios (though mainly use the NXDN CH and the SAFE-T). I know a few areas down south still have VHF, an a few higher ranking IMPD and MCSO staff have VHF radios.

From the AARs from the last eclipse most agencies did not report radio problems other than a DOT with some busies, I think it was Wyoming.
Hendricks county ARES will be providing support at local EOCs.
I heard Wayne township schools in Marion county will block parking lots with buses to make sure no one parks there to watch.

I'm old enough to remember when the Boone county sheriff's office would mark 10-42 on their VHF channel at midnight, I think it was plan A.
I see some 7TAC, FIRE and LAW stuff on the 205 in case the fecal matter hits the rotating wind machine.

Today's FEMA sitrep shows a MERS unit in Maine. Oregon had 2 "pre-staged" for the 2017 eclipse. I guess pre-staging means they drove there, marked the parking spot and drove back, then drove back again for the eclipse. Is the eclipse pre-planned of just a normal plan?

2 reports I got are too big to attach, I put them on this site.

Some of the southern counties (Ripley & Dearborn) moved off SafeT for Fireground/TAC & work channels for the weekend and Monday. I heard them directing FD/EMS units to the 8TACXXD channels and some PD units to 7LAWXXD.

Hope this is on-topic for this thread. Some finds during the events near the IMS today:

152.990 CSQ WTHR (first time ever hearing this in use)
442.500 PL 100.0 Marion County RACES
450.8375 PL 167.9 Media Production - producers and cameramen talking
450.950 PL 156.7 Media Production - IMS Productions?
455.5125 PL 156.7 NBC IFB
464.625 PL 173.8 Unknown - voice
464.900 PL 167.9 NASA Video Production

Plenty of GMRS/FRS in use around the IMS today as well.

All captured using Uniden BC125AT w/ Diamond RH77CA antenna.

Hendricks county went emergency traffic only during mid day, very little activity radio wise and the same for public safety runs.
ARES liaisons were released about an hour after the eclipse ended. A friend's normal 45 min trip to Crawfordsville from Avon took 90 minutes.

I found the most active frequencies were the ham radio repeaters.

I did hear some stuff on IN DNR D06 Parks TG (probably Brown Co).

I heard a new one to me... 151.355 RAN 40 -- Greene Co?
