I recently programmed Den and Westy into my PRO-96 and while monitoring any EDACS, I have a repetitive 'beep' approx every .33 sec. I assume this is normal for EDACS or is ther something I programmed wrong?

I also have a considerable amount of static on EDACS as well.

You don't have Den and Westy programmed into one bank do you?? You need Den in one bank and Westy/Arvada into another bank, mine is setup bank 0 is for Arvada/Westy, bank 1 is Denver, Bank 2 have WheatRidge and Bank 3 is the digital Apco currently Golden West..

The EDACS beep, often commonly referred to as the "GE Jingle" is normal when monitoring from a none trunktracking scanner but should not be audiable on your Pro-96.

Where are you monitoring from? You might in a marginal reception area, also did you program the EDACS channels in LCN order?

Two online feeds of Denver if you want to compare:

This may sound as nit-picking but, you either have the EDACS beeps or the GE Jingle, they're not the same. The jingle uses tones to make a crude rendition of the "We bring good things to life" slogan from GE ads from a couple of decades ago if I remember right....

The jingle is rarely used anymore, in fact, the only system that I can confirm that still uses it, is the military one in my area and that whole system will be history within 2 years.

The EDACS beeps are just that, 4 or 5 beeps in rapid succession after each transmission.

To stay more on topic, the original poster's problem might be as simple as not having the frequencies in the correct LCN order or not starting programming on the 01 channel of the bank in question. Also keeping in mind that even when everything is programmed properly and working fine, you still hear many times like a half second bleep just before the radio switches back to the control channel.

"rckydenver"--I have Den and Westy seperated into different channels.

"jmmnn"--I am monitoring from within the cities themselves.

"kikito"--I will check the order with "jmmnn's" offer to compare.

Thanks to all replys.
