• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

    If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

where did you hear of this LCN-0?
what did they talk about regarding "LCN-0"?

so far my best guess is the very first one in the channel order (0,1,...) or the last one of ten channels (1,2,...,9,0).

As I recall, LCN 0 is the busy queue in EDACS trunking. So if a radio has been assigned LCN 0, it is in the busy queue. There is a string of information that you can add to your trunker "XXXXXsys.txt" files that will show the busy queue and a few other features - i'll see if I can dig it up and post it.

Here it is....replace the text in your XXXXXsys.txt with this:

Lebanon County South System
MAP=00000000
OPTIONS=NVDF
PLAN=0
DESCR=E-GE
THRESHOLD=50
DISPOSITION=abdbebfulznbpbsn
s DOWNLINK,1a,ffff,0
s RESERVED,1b,ffff,0
s CONVERTc,1c,ffff,0
s QUEUEDid,1d,ffff,0
s SYS-BUSY,1e,ffff,0
s DENIEDid,1f,ffff,0
dv453.1625,1,ffff,6e05
dv453.3125,2,ffff,7328
dv453.4500,3,ffff,24fb
dv453.5875,4,ffff,25c1
v453.7625,5,ffff,1714
dv460.3625,6,ffff,3a6b
dv460.5000,7,ffff,2d76

...and you will see the different radios assigned to those different LCNs as they use those features. An explanation of those features can be found at:
