I seem to be only picking up one side to any given radio transmission. Whether it be a programmed ID or
a group wildcard in my 106. Its an EDACS Networked Standard system. The system has gone through
some recent freq. changes. I have spent many hours or researching the FCC site and finding the new freq's
and LCN order. Finally several days ago I put in a LCN order that started giving me radio traffic.Does this sound like radio settings issue or still a LCN order issue?. The LCN has three repeating Freq's in it. I tried the order several different ways and Without the repeating freq's but no traffic. The system analysis is as follows-99%;C:17;S:08;Hsa. Here is the Freq. list that gives me one sided traffic.

ch1 :852.58750
ch2 :854.56250
ch3 :856.46250 old C.C.
ch4: 856.46250
ch5: 856.46250
ch6: 862.56250
ch7: 863.36250
ch8: 860.61250 new C.C.
ch9: 860.08750
ch10:859.56250
The FCC lists 8 freq's for this system. note the repeating ch's 3-4-5 not sure what to make of this. The R.R. database LCN order does not work. For Shiawassee co. Mich. Consumers Energy

Thank You

The database indicates this system is both analog and provoice. Provoice cannot be monitored by any scanner. What you are missing may be provoice transmissions. It might be possible provoice can be listened to with DSD software, but you would have to put a discriminator tap on your scanner. Here is the link for both.

Consumers

I live in Livingston county and have not had a chance to finish Shiawassee yet. My last notes show the following LCN
05
13
17
18
19
20

Consumers is a tricky system. I wanted to get up to Shiawassee in the next few weeks and run Unitrunker on it. I did Howell,Northville, Manchester, Dundee, Roayl Oak, Haslett and Onadaga recently and know they are correct. The problem is the frequencies listed in the FCC database aren't always the ones used at those particular towers. Northville stumped me for a few hours I had all but one LCN correct and no frequencies left. I had to use two other scanners in conventional mode searching for active frequencies and also watch the PC with Unitrunker running to see when the last LCN was active my radio in search was active. Once happy with the frequency I locked onto it and verified it.

Running Unitrunker on the control channel will list the LCN order. What frequencies go into each LCN slot can be the hard part. It takes time and at least two scanners. If you look at Northville, Dundee, Manchester, Haslett, Onadaga, Howell and Royal Oak you will see the order can and is very different from siste to site. You may have 6 frequencies in an order like this.
LCN 01
LCN 02
LCN 11
LCN 12
LCN 16
LCN 17

So a guess would not be good enough. You need to run Unitrunker on the control channel and it will plot out the LCN's then use the frequencies you have and monitor them one by one in conventional mode that way you'll even get the data bursts that may come across. Once you can confirm activity on all frequencies and match that up to activity shown on the LCN in Unitrunker reprogram your radio that way. You should be able to follow it then.

Good luck
