PRO-95 Scanner

Hi all,

I am wondering if the following is correct when programming edacs into a PRO-95 scanner.

Bank 8-0 ON
ID No. 00
ED: 0810
any text tag

Then I have on bank 8 the following

800...........+FM
0.00000
Bank 8 Ch 00
text tag

At 801 Ch 01 I input the first frequency starting in lcn order up to 805 Ch 05. All channels are set to +ED.

I also was wondering if it is possible to put edacs into 2 differnt banks if they are two different agencies. For instance I have Alabama state in bank 8 and airport authority in bank 9. I hear no traffic except when I scan them manually. I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

Thanks for any input.

One EDACS TRS per bank. So if there are then EDACS systems within your area and your radio scanner has ten banks then you can put one in each bank.

Check to see if you have the frequencies programmed in LCN order.

Yup the channels are not in LCN. Make sure both the channels and the entire bank is in EDACS mode as well.

Thanks for the replies.

I was curious about this:

800...........+FM
0.00000
Bank 8 Ch 00
text tag

I wondered if this being on +FM was causing a problem, but I see that you can only change it to AM or FM Mode.

I checked all the LCN's and they are in order, I guess there is not alot of traffic on these systems around here or I am too far away........

Thanks again.

I'm not sure but if I remember right when I had mine I still set the mode in channel 00
(800) with no freq. but mode was E. and L/O 800. Are you in open mode + ?
Also do you hear the control channel very important.. Just a thought

For your last post PGM Trunk MODE should bring up AM, FM MO, ED, and I believe LTR to get you into trunk mode

n3ncn,

I am only able to set mode for channel 00 to AM or FM, I guess because there is no frequency input here. Yes I am in open mode and can hear the control channel in Manual, but it is just static.

Thanks,
K

PAGE 28 will help you . If you do it step by step the way this book in the link says and it does not work. It's broke

Yes I am in open mode and can hear the control channel in Manual, but it is just static.

If your control channel has alot of static despite the noise sound the contol is you must relocate the scanner to a location where the irritating sound of the CC comes in clear. that could be a big part of your problem,

1.) Make sure that your radio scanner can pick up the Control Frequency loud and clear.
If it cannot, then get a better atenna or move your radio scanner to another location.
2.) Make sure your frequencies are set to ED.
3.) If this radio scanner requires that you set your Talk Groups to EDCAS also, then do it.

This is a DUAL trunking Radio Scanner. It can ONLY trunk tack MOTO & EDACS. NO LTR.

I appreciate all the help from everyone. I believe that the scanner is setup correctly, but I am too far away or there is little traffic on this particular system. I read that edacs has a smaller usable area and I may need an antenna. I will take the scanner outside and see if reception improves.

Thanks again,

You might want to try to antenna from Radio Shack:

If the above link does NOT work, go to http://www.RadioShack.com an search for
Catalog Number: 20-283 or Model Number: 20-283
