The county started narrowbanding all the VHF and UHF radios currently in use about a month ago. I believe they have finished, now, because I haven't heard the radio service on air for several days, now, and the voice quality sounds way better.
They had the biggest problems with tone-outs for the various county volunteer fire departments. As of today, I think that these have been rectified.
No frequencies changed, all is the same for the county, but the tone-outs sound different for some of the VFDs.
The EMS director of the county said that there are no plans to get on Pal 800 any time soon. It is just too expensive and our county cannot afford it.
