EDGEWATER - Police arrested a male suspect Thursday morning after a woman was shot and killed Wednesday evening.
Edgewater Police said the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. at West 20th Avenue and Otis Street Wednesday.
According to police, 22-year-old Amanda Jean Duran of Edgewater was banging on the door of a home in the 2000 block of Otis Street, asking for help, when she was shot and killed by a man.
Edgewater Police say the suspect, Edwardo 'Eddie' Espinosa-Martinez, was arrested Thursday morning.
After firing the single shot, police say Espinosa-Martinez got into a pickup truck and drove off. Police began searching for the 26-year-old suspect Wednesday night and continued into Thursday morning asking for the public's assistance. Police said he was to be considered armed and dangerous.
Details about his arrest were not immediately released. He is being held at the Jefferson County jail.
