For the past 4 or 5 days I've noticed that the Edison TRS has a stuck transmitter dead-keying in analog -- just a carrier. Since I live near the Municipal Center and their site there, I can tell that the signal is not coming from all sites but has to be a single site's transmitter that's keyed. The rest of the active channels are 5x5 on my S-meter, while the stuck site is noticeably weaker -- possibly from the north end of town. This definitely is not from another system or an image.

The frequency is 471.400. A friend of mine has let someone from the town know about it, but so far the site remains keyed.

Just an FYI -- since nobody seems to be aware of it. Relax guys.

If it were to affect the reliability of the TRS (a common thing already with Edison), somebody would care.

Still stuck.. town is aware but their attitude is "but our radios work fine.. see? *key up*"

I just think it's funny it's been dead-keyed for weeks now and nobody cares -- it's not just that they're unaware.

Not sure if they are using quantars but if so they can be keyed up from the front panel
for power out/swr checks. Can also be keyed up via Moscad remotely to check forward
and reflected power. Its possible one of the techs did so to run a check and left it keyed
up by mistake as I have seen this happen before. These are continuos duty transmitters
so it could be awhile before it craps out.
