BCD396XT/BCD996XT: Edit IDs in a group

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the answer in the archives. Once I've found an unidentified ID in a group how can I name it?

The easiest way is through some type of software.

otherwise, you must do the following:

save it into the group you want
select that particular talkgroup on the dial
hit "e"
then select the first option which is "edit name"
