Does anyone know what was going on around 11:00 - 1:00 or so? I caught the middle of the event. I dont know if it was training or something, but they were sending teams in for only 15 mins at a time. And they had 2 teams. THey were recon teams. They were reporting on a tank or something. I'm not sure what it was about. They had police surrounding the area and had shut the area down. From what i heard on the police tac 1, they were more interested in thier comfort than the event. lol (not insulting them, just trying to figure out what was happening) Becasue of this, it makes me think it was a training event. But from the sounds of the radio trafic, it wasnt. Also the fact that they shut down the area and weren't letting the residents in, leads me to believe that it was a real event.

Does anyone know? I know that AD5BN works for edmond. I havent seem him post recently, lol, but then again, i dont post all that often. Does anyone know?

Thanks!!

I didn't catch the location but Channel 9 reported an underground chlorine
tank was breached by a backhoe causing a leak which affected several people.

Gas Tank Leak Sends Seven To Hospital
07-14-2004 1:08 PM

(Edmond, OK) -- Construction workers hit what is believed to be an old chlorine gas tank around 9 a.m. this morning. It happened at 33rd and Air Depot Road in Edmond where a new housing development is being constructed. A worker made a hole in the tank with a tractor and the fire department was quickly called out. The fire crew was expecting a natural gas line leak but instead found themselves facing what is believed to be an old chlorine gas tank. Two-firefighters and five-construction workers were rushed to a local hospital for treatment after breathing in the deadly gas. They are expected to make a full recovery.

I do not know the particulars of his situation, but I do know that you cannot find a single post that he has made from the past. They have all been deleted.

I, therefore, assume he choose to retire from the scanning scene. :(
