Hello,

Looking for some help in programming my Uniden TrunkTracker IV. I know EFRS has changed over to the new AFRRCS and I would like to update my scanner to be able to hear them.

I am unsure how to program a P25 system. Please let me know if any of you can help! Thanks

Knowing the model would be helpful. I'm going to guess either a BCD 396XT or BCD 996XT.

Sorry. Yes it’s the BCD 396XT.
I have programmed it the way I think it would work but I get very little traffic and the traffic I do get is very broken. I’m missing something I’m sure.

It is broken up because it is a Simulcast site, meaning many towers around the city simultaneously repeating the radio transmissions. I would search the Uniden forums here to see how others are dealing with simulcast if upgrading your radio is not in the cards.

This is likely due to the Edmonton Simulcast cell. The edmonton simulcast cell has 5 sites that all transmit on the same channels. They use a wave form called H-DQPSK, and most scanners do not properly decode it. The only scanners designed to properly decode H-DQPSK are the Uniden SDS series.
