Late to the party here, and not wanting to go through 116 pages of forums, but any word on when Edmonton (EPS) is supposed to go encrypted? I cannot find any information on dates. Anyone have an idea? Thanks

True but they are still simulcast on EDACS in the clear. If you believe the Edmonton Journal in early 2018 the ex-Chief Rod Knecht was quoted as saying they would be on the closed AFRRCS system in the Spring of 2018 and scanners would go quiet.

What the City forgot about was installing what were called leaky coax systems or IDAS in the LRT, WEM, Gold Bar water treatment plant and other areas. Every time there is an incident in the LRT tunnels especially Churchill AFRRCS radios don't work. So as a result both EPS and EFR still simulcast on EDACS. The project is supposed to be completed this fall so the simulcast on EDACS may end soon.
