Hi All, Thanks for reading. I've got a pro-651 here. I tried to download the data a couple times with a couple programs. The first program, ARC didn't have my scanner listed. This is the software that came with the cable. So I downloaded the 10 min demo of the latest an greatest ARC. Well that was a little better but I could only hear occassional 1-way talk, I could only hear a response. I'm in Kansas, its a P25. I did download the data from RR though as a premium member. Well - now I downloaded the WIN500 software and am getting EEprom errors and checksum errors. I tried setting the RSSI values to version 2.6 and when that failed set them back to 2.8. Any ideas? I'll upload the txt file from Win500.
Thanks everyone, I'm more than frustrated...

Shawnee County uses their own P-25 Phase I system Topeka / Shawnee County (P25) Trunking System, Topeka, Kansas - Scanner Frequencies (Links are in blue) That system, from what I understand, is a pain in the neck to program in. They do have talkgroups on KSICS, however, all operations are dispatched via their own P25 system.

If you're trying to program in the Shawnee County simulcast system, you're gonna run into issues as it is a simulcast system and those scanners are notorious for simulcast issues. You can try and attenuate your signal, it has worked for some people, but your results may vary depending on where you are in Shawnee County. It is a 6-site simulcast system, basically meaning it's broadcasting the same information to six different towers at the same time and the Radioshack scanners are trying to hear six sites with the same information at the same time, which causes "intermodulation" (or intermod for short). I can send you files to help you out, but I need to know which system(s) you need. I have helped several of our fellow members here with their scanners, and I have received help from a few on this forum with my scanners... we're kind of like family. Let us know how we can help.

So I've got the basic channels going now, Highway Patrol, Police, Lifestar, hospitals, bus routes, turnpike Auth, air traffic... no AMR though. I took the radio back thinking the memory errors were hardware related especially since my serial number started with 012. The hardware wasn't/isn't the problem. It seems to be the software. Every once in a while, I'll get a memory error within the program and it closes. If when I open Win500, close all the templates I've created, close the program and then open the software back up, it prompts me for what model of scanner I'm using. When I get that prompt and choose the Pro-651 option, it goes straight through without any EEprom errors or checksum errors.
So - now my question is, when I try an program additional settings, something simple such as the LED light preferences, it hoses the whole file on the scanner and I have to fight it again to get my working file loaded. Any thoughts? Any experience or similiar issues? Also, I'd like to have AMR. :)
Thanks All!
