i lived in eff county all my life until two years ago, i am going to ask some of the questions as best as i can.


as far as i know, the only fire departments that have a talk group on the 800 system is effingham fire department. the county and city both have the ability to patch the fire ground freqs used by surrounding fire departments to the city and county 911 system. altamont ambulance does also have a talkgroup on the system. esda did not have a talk group on the system. the sop plan states and i have seen the radios my self, that they have the ability to communicate with all users on the system, and all talkgroups. esda was in the process of putting up a county wide esda repeater on the air. i dont have much more info but will be finding out in the days to come. i hope that answers a lot of your questions.

Your right on the issues there. Effingham City FD has an 800Mhz talkgroup on the system, a few years ago they added a dispatch on 155.100, which according to RR database says is the primary channel for operations, 154.430 listed as Effingham FD Dispatch. Effingham City PD, and Effingham County both use the trunked system. The small pd's dispatched by the county also use the TRS, including Altamont, and T-Town. Other fire departments are paged out on 154.430. Effingham County ESDA has a repeater as of 2009 per the RR database. Both Effingham City-County Ambulance and Altamont Ambulance the same agency have talkgroups that are active on the TRS. There has been talk that Effingham county was replacing their TRS with Starcom21, although it hasn' happened yet that I see or have heard.

Appears Effingham, has licensed a new frequency in the database for countywide fire, not sure if this will be for countywide, or a narrowband for Effingham City.

Can anyone confirm/deny that Effingham Co is working towards Starcom 21?
