EFFINGHAM, Ill. — An Effingham County sheriff’s deputy told the county’s Emergency Telephone System board Tuesday that radio interoperability needed to be improved.

No matter who is at fault not getting the communcations channels working properly, a compromise neeeds to be made somewhere for the safety of the officers, and the public and to also improve response times the best they can. Sounds like you have to give something to get something.

Sounds like they got a sales call from their local radio dealer promising the moon. I am sure the radio systems have been this way for years why now all of sudden the urgency.
