The El Centro Police Department (in Imperial County), along with other local law enforcement agencies in the area, have switched their radio systems earlier this year. Is their new radio system Digital or just Trunk-Tracking :? ? I'm considering purchasing a new scanner to listen to the El Centro PD.. and just wanna make sure if I need a digital or a trunk-tracking scanner.

Thanks! :D

Imperial County has joined the San Diego County RCS. Check the database for more info. The system is both analog and digital but LE is all digital.

Thanks for the reply, Wayne. How can I find out if their digital system is 3600 baud or 9600 baud :?:

RCS is an Motorola Type II ASTRO Smartzone/Smartnet
This means 3600

If a system is an ASTRO-25 (9600) it will be listed here as an APCO-25 CAI Standard system.

Hope that helped.

Thanks for the info, milf. I dunno whether to get the BC250Dw/card ($319) or the Pro-96 ($400). Regarding the BC250D, the idea of having to constantly manually adjust the sound setting for digital clarity doesn't attract me.
