As mentioned a while back El Reno has upgraded to P25 Phase 1. They are on OKWIN instead of OKC. They have chosen NOT to be encrypted however they have stated this is subject to change. They use Moto N70's for PD and FD uses Next XE Tri Band radios with in vehicle mobiles APX 6500's. Fire appears to be live on it full time but voice only no tones. Animal Control is using it full time and patrol is using it randomly until they get some issues corrected. Their portables use FirstNet SmartConnect. For now they have two PD tg's and one FD tg.
Next is Union City.....
Possibly Piedmont soon too....
Pafford EMS..............

Happy scanning :)

Turner101, has anything changed since you posted? I made an unplanned trip to El Reno today, but I haven't set up my SDS for the OKWIN El Reno frequencies, so I loaded the full database and was hearing El Reno PD on the DMR frequencies consistently for about three hours before I left.

PD (patrol) is still using DMR for most traffic until some issues are corrected as mentioned above. AOC officers are on 800 full time now but since that’s animals control you won’t hear them as often. Dispatch is also waiting on their consoles to get upgraded before they can fully switch. Fire is being toned on DMR but traffic is suppose to be on the 800s. Traffic is flowing tho on all three talk groups, just have to listen long enough. Hope this helps.
