Be more specific. Electric would mean plug into wall. Take 110 volts and drop to scanner around 9 - 12 dc. Usually called a power cord.

Usb would go off computer and is not referenced as electric. Usually called a programming cable.

Are you referring to a “Programming Cord”? A “power cord”?

If so, you’ve got to tell us which scanner you want to use with it.

FreeSCAN is free and will handle anything the BCD996XT scanner can do. Personally, I use Butel ARC-XT Basic for my BCD996XT's. ARC-XT is also a paid program. Both ARC-XT and ProScan have a free trial period to decide which one you like better.

Would it be this one? Used one for my 396XT. Has a proprietary connector for the scanner.
Yes, that is the Uniden (OEM) USB-1 cable used for those scanners. The one I linked to in my post #6 also has the same Hirose connector on it that is used by those scanners, and is significantly cheaper than the Uniden cable.

I currently use 3 of them.
