Elkhart Back Up

Occasionally Elkhart City police and fire say that they are in site trunking and going to back up. Then I hear nothing. Does anyone know what frequency they use when in "backup" mode?

These are listed as part of the ERS trunked system. Should they be programmed as this trunked system or as a simplex chnnel? What is the DCS 606?

Program as conventional analog. Not part of ERS trucked system any more. DCS=digital coded squelch.

I don't always scan them so not sure.
