Elkin Hamfest

Does any one know if there will be a Elkin hamfest this year, searched the web but only found outdated info.

I couldn't find anything about an event this year, either.

The hamfest was at a different location last year, than previous years. We had a thread on this forum last February ...

I received a reply back from my buddy who is good friends with the organizers of last year's Elkin Hamfest. He said they are trying to get things finalized. He also said there is a possibility of two in Elkin this year. My friend said the organizers would like to use the airport facility again, but may have issues as the airport has added some helicopter flight instruction. I will forward more info as soon as I get it.

I'll definately come for this one if someone posts a date and time in advance so I can get the day off. I'm not a ham (yet), but i'm sure there are alots of goodies to buy.

Elkin Hamfest 2007

I was listening to some Ham Op.'s on 3.927 a few nights ago and they were discussing how the Elkin hamfest was a NO go as they could not have it at the airport this year. Too bad I went last year and had a good day - even though it was kinda cold.

That's too bad. I thought last year was definitely a great turn out. So much for the airport adding helicopter lessons!
