That's good information! I thought about trying to make some sort of program that one could type in the ID # and it would search for you, maybe like an xcel thing, course I'm no computer whiz either...lol. What do they say? It's the thought that counts? But seriously I will check that out and really appreciate your help.

If you are looking at the database page, for a specific system, then simply use the basic Windows "find" shortcut- <CTRL>+<F> (that's holding down the Control key, and then pressing "F" while still pressing "Control"). This works in most all browsers, including Firefox & Internet Explorer. (It's also found in the drop-down menu under 'Edit').
This will give you a small window to enter the text, or in this case, the talkgroup ID, you're looking for, and then hit "next" and the browser will search the page for a match. For a large system, such as AWIN or LWIN, you could also use it to quickly jump to the collection of talkgroups for a specific county, or agency. Just enter that county, agency, or city name instead of a talkgroup. Of course, the first result on a 'city' name might be one or more transmit sites in that city, so just hit "next" again to move on down to the next result.
I also make use of the 'find' command for downloaded manuals, For a number of the scanners, either they do not ship with a printed manual, though it's provided on a CD. Or, if it does come with a manual, you can still download the pdf file. Instead of searching through a printed manual, or printing the file, which wastes paper & ink, I just pull up the file on the pc. Then, using 'Find', I can quickly find every instance in the manual file where that terminology is listed. Most of the indexes leave a LOT to be desired, so doing it this way gets better results for my usages.
