I’m in Waukesha county. Do the local fire/EMS services discuss patient info when enroute to hospitals? I recall hearing this years ago but nothing recently. Or is it now transmitted (e.g. vitals) as data, digitally? I’m currently listening to the Oasis system.

Most agencies in Waukesha County use cell phones to communicate patient vitals and information to hospitals, Tess Corners will pop up on Milwaukee County EMS Call TG2025 if transporting to a Milwaukee county hospital and sometimes Milwaukee County EMS Com will patch to Froedtert Menomonee Falls and occasionally hear Flight For Life use the hospital talk groups but otherwise they are quiet

As 414RadioTech stated, not much activity on the Waukesha County Hospital talkgroups. They are used, but very sparingly.

As for the WISCOM hospital talkgroups, I've never heard a peep on any of them in Milwaukee or Waukesha County.

Never hear anything on the standard 155.2800, 155.3400, and 462/463 Med Channels either.

Thanks. Yes I see that cell phones are addressed in the Wis Emergency Medical Services Communications Plan https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/publications/p0/p00342.pdf.

That makes sense given privacy/Hipaa concerns today.

The short answer is no. 99.5% of pre-hospital comms are cell phone direct to the ED staff, which is allowed by the EMS Comms Plan. You will hear a private EMS provider on EMS B rarely.

The UHF MED channels are not used in the county that I'm aware of, but they are used in Milwaukee County by EMS services that don't have access to OASIS.

The WISCOM talkgroups are there, but there never has been a solidified plan on what to use, when to use it or how to use it. You will hear hospital roll calls on some of the HERC talkgroups, but the hospital-specific talkgroups are quiet.

If you have a decent antenna, you will hear surrounding county hospitals and EMS on EMS B giving patient reports.
