Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Enabling a Custom Scan List - XG-100P

G'day,

I have setup a custom scan list. I have no idea how to select it and then enable it in the radio.

In Menu > Scan > STAR SCAN: The option is greyed out and it's not my customer scan list that shows.
In Menu > Scan > SCAN LIST > CUSTOM LISTS: I can see my custom scan list at the bottom (there's a total of 3 in the list)

How in the world do I turn on scanning for my custom scan list?

If I start scanning, it seems to only scan the top-most Group Set, as seen in my SYSTEM LIST.

Surely I'm missing something really simple here.

I have also mapped the encryption toggle (under the volume kmob) to 'scan on/off'. When I twist it to the left, it's scanning the north of Group Set in my System List.

Thanks in advance!

You need to set the scan list for the system in settings. If you don’t select anything, it will default to scanning the system as defined by the set. If you assign the custom list to a trunked system, it will scan conventional and trunked entries. If you assign it to a conventional system, trunked entries will be omitted.

On a trunked system, I have only seen that work on Enhanced CC. If you have it set to Fixed or Dyn pro scan the scan list setting is grayed out.
