• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

***disclaimer*** I am NOT asking for anyone to send me an illegal copy of any software, or where to get it illegally. I am asking for information to enable me to get it LEGALLY from Motorola.

Hey folks,
Quick question. I have a bunch of Motorola XPR 5580e radios on a Connect+ system that are used in a dispatch center, and I want to enable the external PTT function for pin 17 of the rear accessory plug. I have a valid copy of CPS, but I have read that I also need "Option Board CPS" which is reported to be available on the Motorola Solutions site.

Problem is, I can't find it and neither can anyone from Motorola. Does anyone know what it's called on Motorola Solutions site, or what to ask for when I call the Motorola Part ID guys?

Thanks in advance!
Chris

Changing The pin configuration for the accessory connector is done in regular CPS.

I changed the setting in CPS but it had no effect. I was told that it needs to be changed on the capacity+ option board as well

I have an MC2500 connected to an XPR5550 and it works fine on CAP+, analog and normal DMR and I only used CPS to change the pinout.

Think you are looking for ConnectPlus_CPS_R02.07.44 (At least that's the latest I seem to have). Not at all sure you need it however to do what you are trying to do as @rescue161 said.

Not sure it's status since Connect Plus is EOL and you can not even buy licenses to add subscribers to the system any longer -

It is true you need the Con+ CPS to program the accessories as the option board kinda takes over the radio. If you are in a convention zone then yes the accessory connector is as programmed in regular TRBO CPS.

I do not see the CPS in our account anymore so it may just be plain unavailable. Good luck on your search.

I saw Cap+, hence why I said that it could be done with CPS. I have no experience with Connect+. Sorry for the misinformation. I do see the download in my MOL under ConnectPlus - Firmware section. The file is labeled: " Connect Plus Option Board CPCPS M2021.01 Release" with the description as: (01 Oct 2021 Application 86MB) Option Board Firmware & sample codeplugs are available after CPCPS installation. Version R02.07.44.
