Encrypted SRRCS activity

Spotted some encrypted traffic on the SRRCS non-P25 system this morning around 10:30 am. The talk group was 44144 and the "ENC" appeared on my BCD396XT. Anyone have any idea as to who this talk group belongs to? No radio IDs popped up probably due to it being encrypted.

TG being encrypted should have no bearing on no radio ID being shown. Keep monitoring and see if you can get a radio ID>

I will keep on monitoring it. 14768 has also popped up today with UID's (was driving, didn't write them down) and ENC so you're right they do appear.

Here's what I got for encrypted talk group 44144 using Unitrunker on January 13 for a 24 hour period.

I believe it's safe to assume this talk group belongs to the Sheriff's department based on radio IDs and their affiliations.

1707 on the history log for that radio ID called talk group 62320 eleven times in a fifteen minute time period. I believe that is the Narcotics Majors channel.

My guess is that this is a sensitive surveillance channel or a talk around channel for detectives.

I will program the radio IDs into a separate group on my Uniden and specially alpha tag them to see if they talk on other channels and maybe I'll be able to get a call sign for them which will help narrow down the purpose of this channel even more.
