Hello,
I tried using the forum search feature to find this, but I couldn't find anything.

A while back I had this website that had lots of different recordings of digital transmissions and encrypted transmissions. I lost that site and I was wondering if anyone had it handy.

The reason for this is, I went to the parish next to me today and one of their systems was using encrypted traffic (im pretty sure it was encrypted, that or digital.. either way it wasnt normal and it wasn't bad reception). You could sort of hear a persons voice, but it wasn't understandable. It also had clicks (or rather "pops") while the person was transmitting. Would anyone be able to identify this encryption type off hand?

This is a small city with a population of only ~20,000. I just thought it was sort of odd for them to have encryption.

After listening to a few of those, the only one that sounds the closest is the "Voice Inversion Scrambling." In fact, the voices sound exactly the same.. the only difference is that there is a popping sound every 1-2 seconds, but that could possibly just be interference.

Scrambling would make sense as it is cheaper and this is a very small city that doesn't have very much money nor do they have the need to use encryption.
