i heard that Enfield is moving to 700 mhz is theis true and when is the change goping to hapen

where did u hear that from that aint going to happen at all to many officers on that department to change portables from there ht1000's to what ever they would go to for portables

was just wondering if others had hear about it

Has nothing to do with how many officers they have. It would have to do with whether they need to, want to, can afford to, and a bunch of other things.

Which one? Initals are fine. Staying UHF for the forseeible future. No advantage to go 700 (or 800) as the radio system is fully mature town wide (except for DPW). In addition they would lose car comms with Longmeadow, East Windsor, WMLEC, RAFS and still need to keep some radios for CMED.

If anything I would see them add an additional repeater or channel for EMS operations to take them off of PD2 unless they moved the secure equipment over to PD1.

HT1000's are getting up in age, but still doing a good job day to day.
