entering talkgoups onm pro 96

Hey
Im fairly new on here and have a Pro 96 Im getting used to it but it seems like Im only getting the same talk groups the way I have been doing the talkgroups ID are progam and trunk and then the talk groups my question is does that number have to be on that control channel
Lets say
860.2125 is a control channel for Horry County I just hit Program trunk and then the talk group like 8432 there right where it says when you hit the enter it says not trunked so then you hit trunk am I on the right track or am I skipping something any help would be great and I know to get the windows 96 program but my computer says when i hook it up says port is in use by a pda or some other type of hardware any help would be great

It's hard to understand the question. If you mean it says "Not Trunked", then hit mode until it says MOT (Motorola), then hit enter. Now, it will accept IDs.

Dowload a copy of Win-96. It really helps you visualize what your banks look like.
