EPA activity (415.2) in Oakland County

I am hearing EPA activity on 415.20 & 417.20 MHz in Oakland county.......

Does anyone know what they do in this area?

Mostly I hear a dispatcher sending units to locations.

Around 11:00 PM, there is a role call, where all units radio in.

The EPA has a number that you can call to report anything that you see that could be hazardous to the environment. For instance, someone pressure washing with chemicals and not reclaiming their water (ie they are just letting it go into the storm drain), someone dumping chemicals into a storm drain, etc. Every morning (and a few times a day) they check it (its an automated system, you just leave a message) and they send someone out to do a test on the drains around the area that you reported. If anything is found then they go from there as far as fining someone.

Just curious - what makes you believe this is EPA activity?

Those frequencies are assigned to the Federal Protective Service, part of DHS ICE...

My mistake, I thought it said EPA, but it's clearly FPA.
