• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

An Edmonton Police Service (EPS) member was shot this morning while investigating a gun call. A suspect was shot and killed.

Looks at this time the officers condition is .. lets just say serious. He is in a local hospital and I understand the chief of police and many officers have paid visits. This comes from a source near to the story.

Our prayers go out to the members of the EPS as they deal with this event, and for him a speedy recovery.

My father being a retired EPS member, this is something that is close to my heart as they really put their lives on the line everyday. They are doing a job we never give them enough credit for and I for one am greatful they are there to protect and serve the public as they do.
