Hey all, just to make it clear I do NOT have any equipment for sale right now.

With that said, I am curious would you be willing to pay more for a dual band mobile/VHF ht sold as a combo, or seprately? I have been toying with the idea of selling off some equipment and just seeing what the consensus might be. They are both discontinued, but recent models that are very well known and in good condition. They are probably what I would consider mid-grade feature wise.

PLEASE don't PM me with any offers or inquires, this is just a general question. I won't even give more information on models in this posting.

If you mean a mobile bundled with an HT, as opposed to the mobile and HT each sold separately, then you will get more if you sell them separately. "Bundling" is a method of selling or buying at a discount. Someone typically offers to sell (or buy) the items together in exchange for a bit of a price break. It's usually a win-win for a motivated seller and a thrifty buyer.

If you insist on selling the items as a set, you will greatly reduce your field of potential buyers. Not everyone wants to buy both of the items. You will have to offer a substantial discount to entice them.

This is where eBay can be a good resource. Look up completed auctions of those items, and see what actual people are actually willing to pay.

I agree with RD. Most hams already have a mobile and want an HT, or vice versa. Unless you were at a hamfest and happened to get some new hams looking for their first equipment, the combo wouldn't be very attractive for most of us. I will say that, if the mobile and HT are the same brand, use the same software and cable for programming, and you include the cable and software as part of the package, you'd probably maximize your return.
