I see the lifeflight helos and out of county squads are still calling in to the old Medcomm Ch 9, and then patched to the hospitals on the new system.

At this point I can not give any info of the frequencies at this point. I will let you know when the time comes but we are still figuring why some of the portables are not working on some the frequencies.

Please keep in mind that once you post those here we are not going to honor your request later to "please delete my post". So think before you post. ;)

There are some county fire talkgroups that have been added per submissions however I marked as Tac as it was not specified if they are dispatch talkgroups or tacs. Im too far south to monitor the system.
Unless I marked them as TAC they are dispatch. sorry. As mentioned above St Vincent is marked as HAM rather than Hospital.

This system is coming together readily apparently. Someone designed the system's talkgroup numbering nicely.

That being said, the portables not working on some talkgroups, or on the system itself, is likely lent to system design, and there will be tweaks and adjustments necessary in the coming weeks. Someone mentioned a handshake taking 3 seconds, which is unacceptable, so I'd expect they'll likely be ironing things out for a little bit.

As I'm working on programming the new scanner, has anyone else been having issues getting ECI TAC 1 (306)? I'm hearing dispatch but not the units...

Should have specified better - I’m hearing the TG for 911 to ECI but not the one for ECI to their units. I was next to a system portable that was picking it up but not the scanner. I’ll try and keep an ear on it through the day.

What kind of antenna do you have? I was having some issues too, just the opposite. I was not getting 305. I'm just using indoor antennas, but it seems to have gotten better. Try moving the scanner around - sometimes it makes a difference.

Is anyone picking up activity on the Fire TAC TG's? Just now they went to Fire West TAC 1 (TG 120) and I'm not hearing anything in West Millcreek.

I started with the stock antenna on the 436, but I had a high gain and that helped in the house.

I went to the FD (where we have a tower in our backyard) and still didn't hear it. I obviously had a good signal. Now I'm in the city and I reprogrammed the Urban group and just added TG 306 and ECI T1 comes in with a good signal...weird...

Did you pull the database from RR to program or build it out? I'm thinking about building it out manually and see if that makes a difference?

I’m having no problems hearing traffic in either direction on TG 306 using my RTL-SDR running OP25 in Linux. Not sure about the scanner though, I just programmed it last night.

I started with the RR database, but now I'm building it out manually. I just feel I have more control of it that way.

Talkgroup 305 is marked as FULL TIME encryption. You will not hear on a scanner. Obviously a system radio can receive it as it has the proper encryption key loaded into the radio.

This is the problem i hate with uniden scanners. I would like it to stop on encrypted traffic so that I can identify a signal is being received and can lock it out manually or on the off chance the talkgroup is partial encryption.

Uniden should add a setting to allow the encryption skip to be turned on and off.

Now also to supplement my last posting. I am suspecting they are using the built in RC4 encryption that is provided in the Kenwood/Johnson newer radios. Basically it's the same thing as Motorola ADP. Not federal grade encryption but enough to keep scanners out.
