This is not an error.

The only defined Metro area that contains any counties in South Carolina is Charlotte, NC. It contains York Co., SC. :)

Marshall,
Before you start on that project, please see this thread. It is old but it is something that maybe Eric needs to add to the handbook.

Thanks Lou! Though that list is 7 years old.
I believe we actually need that list to be updated...The Triangle Area is not listed as a Metro Area and we are the 2nd largest Metro area in NC behind Charlotte and have the State Capital. And I believe the SC residents would complain about having no Metro Areas at all in their state.
I do think that list is obsolete but will let Lindsay or Eric have the final
say and abide by their wishes.

In case you didn't notice, the list is based on census bureau MSA numbers only. I suspect that even NOLA might fall off that list since Katrina, but since Lindsay (not to mention me) is from there it might just stay. :D

Basically he picked the top 50 by MSA population and limited it to that. You might have a good point that the list needs updating based on the 2010 census, but I will let you bring that up with Eric or the boss.

As Lou mentioned, the Metro Area list is intended to be only the largest metro areas nationwide. I believe the list is more or less fixed at this point per our prior discussion with Lindsay. If there have been any specific significant changes to the top 50 list please let me know with your source cited. Thanks.
