• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am getting a error when reading a new G5 pager programed by someone else.
The Asst. Chief in a fire department we support purchased a new G5 pager for a shop online and they programed it for him.
He brought it in to the shop because the programing was wrong. we went to read it and we are getting a error code :1 and we can't find that code listed.
The error show up when you read the pager. it displays " An unknow error has happened in the equipment ErrorCode:1"
Has anybody seen this code before.
We even reloaded the latest PPs V0.3.14.15 and still get the error.

I haven't seen that error. But I think you might be on the right track regarding PPS. Since the newest version doesn't work, I would start working backwards through the versions.

The G5 is Model # G5B67BFSXVEN1401UNI which we can not find listed in any of the model list we have.
It has Ver. 1.2 firmware in it.

The 67 indicates that you have DMR on the pager. Are you able to read any other G series (G2 - G5) pager on that computer?
Have you tried a second computer?
Are you using the USB cable that came with the pager? I've seen it where some cheap or very thin USB cables just don't seem to want to work with some equipment. I always recommend using the included USB cable if you have any issues reading the equipment.

If you keep having problems, I would suggest reaching out to the dealer that sold the equipment. If your dealer refuses to help, as a dealer myself I'll be more than happy to help.

Looks like you are missing a character, maybe this is what you have?

G5B67BF SXVXEN 1401UNI

This is the last one listed in the PPS with the G5B67BF prefix.
