Anyone have any idea exactly what this incident was?
About 20-30 minutes ago, I turned on my radio (ham, but it scans VSP), and I heard references to units being tied up on "the escape" on VSP ch 7 (159.000), and a few minutes later, heard Fairfax 1 mark up on VSP ch 4 and direct state units to a heat source.
I quickly got fresh batteries in my 396, and fired up Fairfax's system, and heard Fairfax 1 talking on Channel 1/8/9 about the incident. Then, on VSP ch 4, I heard a unit advise that they had spoken with the subjects father, and he was with the subject about half a mile down 66. VSP units went to the subject, and took him into custody, and cleared the helo and all other units.
My guess, because they had contact with the subjects parents, was that the subject escaped from some kind of a mental instution, and the parents brought him back, but I have no idea.
Anyone hear the rest of this incident, or have any idea what the heck it was about, and care to shed some light on it?
