Escapee/Pursuit: Sussex County

NJSP and local police are in pursuit of an NJDOC escapee wanted for aggravated armed robbery. Believed to have acquired a firearm during escape and is armed and dangerous. Last seen on 23 North thru Hardyston. Further details withheld due to search still in progress.

02:20 Vehicle located, unoccupied. NJSP, local PD, NJSP aviation, and multiple K9 on scene. Time to listen in and see what happens.

Perp is Michael Bentley, who was 1 of 2 that escaped from Mountainview in Clinton Township last weekend.

The other Corey Agostarola is still in the wind. Current search is for Bentley only. They've got a solid lock on the area. He's not gonna get too far on that mountain at night. NYS&W Railway has been notified for officer safety.

I was driving on 23 lastnifgt at about 2 30 there were 50 cop car looking for this fool.... i was wondering what was goung on i turned on the scanner and heard they were looking for someone..i heard someone got bit by the police dog.. people are crazy

Those DOC guys are very persistant. They don't seem to stop until they have there man in custody. One guy sounded like he was a little lost and off the track a bit. I could here the agrivation in his voice. The online feed from this site had the local PD side of the action as they were involved in the chase also. There was actually more talk on there than the NJSP channel but the DOC channel was very active.

They caught Bentley about 04:30 that night. To be specific, Hardyston Police did with the help of a Passaic County SD K9. Apparently the dog did a number on him. NJSP was following a report of a hitchhiker matching his description at the time, and NJDOC Tactical was being used for containment only.

Agostarola is still MIA.
