How does Essex County page Fire & EMS? Do they still page on the old low band system, then give a verbal alert over the high band digital system?

Paging for Fire/EMS remains on Low Band.
When the new radio system was being developed it was found not feasible (due to a need for additional towers and frequency availability) to move paging to VHF-high.
I don’t regularly monitor Essex county so I can’t say what their dispatching protocol is or if the paging traffic is also put out over the fire control frequency.
