Hey all,

Reading on other posts that Environment Canada is changing their systems.

Will this affect how my alert radio works?

I have an Eton FRX5 and up until a few days ago, the regular transmissions were coming through here in Edmonton. Now none of the seven channels have anything coming through.

I tuned into 162.400 using my other VHF radio and nothing came through, not even static like the other WX channels. Sounds like someone is sitting on an open mic.

Regards

Ok so carrier, no voice, something wrong. Put in an observation/complaint report to Environment Canada. Maybe they know and are working the problem. Maybe they are decommissioning those transmitters for that province. Other people in other posts have said as much.

Unfortunate.
Canada is so huge with also huge areas of no cellphone service.

These weather band sites can get info out further with less infrastructure than cellular if maintained.

Maybe some non government group should pick up the task or the provinces themselves.
