ETrunker Alpha Tags for ID's

I have ETrunk running but I can't get it to respond to the alpha tags I have entered along with the priorities and colours.

The text file such as 0001IDS.txt certainly has the changes in it but does not transfer to the screen.

I don't have audio on my seconday scanner but I think that might come once the priorities are recognised.???yes???

Do I have to tell ETrunker somewhere how to find the text files and how do I do that/

No Etrunk will assign all the files based on the sys id. Try editing your ????grp.txt file. Put the priorities and colors in that file and see what happens.

Better and easier yet, why not just edit while Trunker is running using "G" or "I"? You can edit an active group or enter another group number that you had already identified. This method is much more forgiving than editing any of the text files where one missing or extra character could hose the whole file.

OK Jamak, I have been doing that, they appear in the text file but why aren't they on the screen.

There are several possiblilties, but this is difficult to troubleshoot long distance.

Is there any Group ID activity showing at all in the Trunker window?

What % does the DX Rcv show in the upper right hand of the Trunker window?

Are you possibly confusing Groups and IDs? The destination group ID is on the top left and the source ID is on the top right. Switch to non-verbose mode (small v) so you can only see the destination groups. The destination groups are those groups that are displayed on a Trunking scanner. Make sure you haven't entered all of your group IDs in the source ID file and vice versa.

Is it possible to zip all of the files from this system and email them to me to look at??

I was confusing ID and GRP

I'll continue on, we have a good group locally and have had some offers to help with more config.
