EVANS, Ga. — Columbia County commissioners accepted a nearly $7 million bid Tuesday to purchase a new radio system for the sheriff’s office.

Wonder why they don't choose to tap off of the Palmetto 800 system? If anything, they should work a consortium up of Lincoln, Wilkes and McDuffie Counties to make it regional.

Because its government, and for them its almost a contest to see how much money each county can blow on the latest thing Motorola has duped them into buying.
