One of the largest container ships is aground south of the Patapsco River. No spillage reported.IMG_0423.jpg

Ouch... AIS seems to show that it's out of the channel. I wonder if they were just "trying to cut the corner" as they came out of the Patapsco--assuming that's where they were coming from.

The vessel is apparently aground east of the channel, which suggests a late turn to the south. A long salvage is expected.

The ship was freed Easter Sunday after offloading 500 containers and towed to the Naval Academy Anchorage for survey and inspection.
