If my new Austin Ferret (grounded) were struck by lightning, would there be any evidence? Is there a way to check the antenna's integrity?

It would be apperant if you suffered a hit. You would have been visited by the fire department and followed soon by your insurance agent; just hope your installation complied with all NEC standards and local ordinances.

I once left a screwdriver with a wooden handle laying by a tripod on the roof. I found it with a charred handle several months later. Radio and antenna was ok.
