I don't know that much about Motos, so I thought I'd ask. I just saw an ebay ad for a Motorola EX600XLS, where the seller claimed it was FPP, and had dual band capability (VHF AND UHF). Is that even possible, let alone true? Is the EX600XLS actually FPP out of the box?

I know for a fact that the EX600XLS is not dual band.

Yeah that's what I thought. After doing some research it seems like it's not FPP either, even though on the Moto website it says it is.

Okay thank you. As far as I know the only Moto FPPs are the XTS series with the proper flash, the JT1000 and the HT1550XLS is that correct?

The HT1550XLS is FPP with the special red battery, the XTS5000 and I think the XTS2500 too and I never seen an JT1000 have FPP capability.

All JT1000's are FPP, I have one sitting in front of me right now. They originally required a key (placed where the speaker mic goes) to be able to program but they can easily have their codeplugs hex-edited to not need the key at all.

The GP68 is also FPP but I'm not sure if they're type-accepted in the US (fine for ham though).
