I suspect the radio was in a wrong zone- most radios have the main dispatch channel in slot 1 so no matter what zone - turn to 1 you are on dispatch. I was very surprised how many times he called out on an active fireground with no one on the fireground even acknowledging there was a radio transmission. Listening to the feed from 5:00 to 5:20 the lack of acknowledgement made me think he was not actually on the fireground channel but looking at my logs I saw he was on METAC1 that was patched to MFD 3.

Is there a trick to keeping the scanner feed 'awake' while using an iPhone? The feed won't run in the background when I want to open other app's either. Suggestions?

Some people have had luck using the iPhone app Dolphin ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dolphin-web-browser-free-ad/id452204407?mt=8 ). It seems to work. I haven't tried it long enough to know if it eventually quits or not.

So far- I've been using Dolphin for quite some time. It works perfectly. I've had the Scanner on in the background for hours on end. Perfect!

Thanks for the recommendation on Dolphin- tried it today on an old iPhone 4 and it worked great.

When everybody talks at once.

I keep meaning to improve this, but when everyone talks at once I end up falling behind. Currently about 12 minutes behind. It will catch up when the talking decreases or the storms come down here and my power goes out.

It is about 22 minutes right now, I think. There are just too many fires going on right now.
