On the US Park Police dispatch channel 166.925 I heard the following from the controller:

"This is Control breaking squelch only for Officer____."

That officer then answered her. How do you talk to only a single person on the net? It wasn't done with a different tone since I had the channel tone controlled. I've been wondering about this since I heard it a couple of days ago and finally figured I'd ask here since many of you operate these radios.

maybe she was calling this certain officer (since you could hear it on your scanner). i highly doubt it was some sort of ICALL (again, since you could hear it on the maid dispatch frequency). so again, maybe this is their way of calling a certain officer.

That's the way I was leaning on this also - which is why I waited two days before asking. I've never heard of such a thing as an I-CALL on VHF frequencies. Is there any non-trunked VHF radio capable of such a thing?
