Explosion at Escambia County jail

Emergency crews are on the scene at the Escambia County jail after an explosion happened around 11:30pm Wednesday night. Crews are working to evacuate the building. Several ambulances are on the scene, but there's no word on the extent of the injuries. At approximately 11:00 this evening, an apparent gas explosion occurred at Escambia County Jail’s Central Booking area causing a partial building collapse. Roughly 600 prisoners were in the building at the time.
